A powerful combination of systemic and contact action designed for reliable protection of apple orchards against fungal pathogens.
Description
Dual-action defense against scab and powdery mildew
The fungicide "Malakhit, SC" is a high-performance formulation featuring a synergy of two active ingredients: dithianon and pyrimethanil. This combination transforms the product into a versatile tool for apple orchard management, aimed at both curative action and long-term protection.
Integration of contact and systemic properties
The core of "Malakhit's" efficacy lies in its dual mode of action:
- Dithianon acts as a contact barrier on the leaf and fruit surfaces, effectively preventing spore germination. This component is known for its excellent rainfastness, which is essential during unpredictable spring weather patterns.
- Pyrimethanil provides systemic activity. It is rapidly absorbed into the plant tissue, where it inhibits the synthesis of enzymes that the pathogen requires to infect the host. This allows the product to stop the disease even after initial tissue penetration.
By attacking the pathogen on multiple fronts, the formulation significantly reduces the risk of resistance, making it a critical component of any anti-resistance strategy. In high-humidity conditions, where scab pressure is severe, pyrimethanil serves as an effective "stop-gap" to halt mycelial development.
Technical Specifications and Application
Supplied as a suspension concentrate (SC), the product ensures high particle dispersibility and uniform coverage across the leaf surface. With an application rate of 1.5–2 L/ha, "Malakhit" delivers consistent control against major apple diseases. The maximum number of applications per season is limited to three, with a mandatory 20-day pre-harvest interval (PHI).
Manufactured by BASF Agro B.V. across facilities in France, Italy, Germany, and the USA, the product maintains consistent quality standards across every batch. Given its Class 2 hazard classification, strict adherence to safety protocols and protective gear usage is required during handling and application.
