The 'Rumyanye Shchechki' gladiolus, developed by breeder Andrey Nikolaevich Gromov, is the result of selective breeding focused on combining high inflorescence density with a distinct petal texture. Unlike standard garden forms, this cultivar demonstrates complex flowering geometry.

Inflorescence Architecture

A key technical parameter of this cultivar is the density of the spike. Each flower stalk forms 18-20 buds simultaneously. With a flower diameter of 11-13 cm, this concentration requires the plant to have high stem rigidity to support the weight of the inflorescence without lodging under wind loads. The bud arrangement is orderly, ensuring uniform opening without 'gaps' in the decorative line.

Texture and Morphogenesis

• Ruffling: The petals feature pronounced folds, which provide not only visual volume but also increase the flower's resistance to mechanical damage.
• Color Fidelity: The pink hue with characteristic tonal transitions requires sunny locations protected from the midday heat to maintain pigment saturation.
• Life Cycle: The cultivar is characterized by a prolonged flowering period. The mechanism of this trait lies in the gradual rotation of bud-opening phases, which makes the plant a stable element of a flowerbed for an extended time.

Corms of the 3-4 cm fraction are used for planting. This size is optimal for producing a full-fledged flower stalk in the first season. With proper agricultural management, the cultivar demonstrates high adaptability to climatic conditions, maintaining its decorative properties throughout the entire vegetation period.
