Description
The «Sinus» variety is a high-yielding guar (Cyamopsis tetragonolobus) line developed for a wide range of applications in agriculture and the food industry. The plant is characterized by oval, light-green leaves and rounded-cornered seeds, reaching a height of 70–85 cm, with the first pods appearing as early as 3–5 cm from the stem base. The vegetative period lasts about 115 days, and flowering begins 40–50 days after seedling emergence.
Key yield and quality indicators make «Sinus» attractive to farmers: average seed yield reaches 28.5 c/ha, galactomannan content is 33.8%, and crude protein in dry matter is 32.1%. When grown in grain-tillage rotations in Western Pre-Caucasus, the variety demonstrates green mass yield of 165 to 281 c/ha and protein content in leaves and pods of about 24.3%.
Guar «Sinus» exhibits resistance to major pathogens—ascohitosis, bacterial blight, and root rots—confirmed by applicant data. Thanks to high biological properties, including nitrogen fixation from the air, the plant is actively used as a forage crop: in green feed production, guar flour, and germ-based feeds. Additionally, its high protein and fiber content make «Sinus» a valuable ingredient for the food industry and other sectors requiring a quality source of plant protein.
