The «Fishka» insecticide, developed by Badvasi, offers a reliable solution for protecting cereal and oilseed crops from a wide range of harmful insects. The core of its efficacy lies in alpha-cypermethrin, a potent active ingredient formulated as tablets. This unique delivery system simplifies storage and logistics, while ensuring consistent concentration upon mixing.

Contact-based mechanism

Alpha-cypermethrin, as a synthetic pyrethroid, works by disrupting the nervous system of insects. Upon contact, it triggers the depolarization of nerve cell membranes, leading to rapid paralysis and death. Because the insecticide operates primarily through contact, the practice of thorough spray coverage across the crop canopy is essential for maximizing the efficacy of the active ingredient.

Application and usage profile

The product is specifically engineered for use on winter and spring wheat, as well as winter rapeseed. It addresses critical pest pressures:

• Winter rapeseed: effective against rapeseed beetles and various species of cruciferous flea beetles.
• Wheat: combats the Sunn pest (Eurygaster integriceps), cereal flies, cereal leaf beetles (Oulema), aphids, and thrips.

The recommended application rate is 1–2 per hectare, with a maximum of two treatments permitted per season. Given its status as a Class 2 hazard product, strict adherence to spray protocols is necessary to achieve the desired control while maintaining safety standards. Its ability to provide rapid knockdown makes it a preferred choice when pest populations reach critical economic thresholds.
