When you enter a wheat field infested with sunn pests or cereal flies, time is against your harvest. In my practice, using "Overkill" from F. MAC GmbH has become a reliable safety net. It is a classic dual-active ingredient insecticide that delivers results exactly when you need to quickly suppress high pest populations.

Efficacy of active ingredients

The power of "Overkill" lies in the combination of cypermethrin and chlorpyrifos. In essence, you get a "double blow": the contact action ensures an immediate "knockdown effect," while the systemic component penetrates plant tissues, providing long-term protection. This is critical for controlling thrips and cereal leaf beetles, which can destroy a significant portion of the flag leaf before grain filling even begins.

Application and dosage details

• Operational range: The application rate of 0.75–1.5 L/ha allows for a flexible approach based on pest density. During early stages of infestation, the minimum dose is sufficient, but in case of mass migration, I always opt for the upper limit.
• Application technology: Strictly foliar spraying. The product mixes well but requires high-quality spraying equipment—remember the contact component, as complete coverage of every leaf is essential.
• Safety and regulations: The hazard class 2 requires strict adherence to safety protocols. A 30-day waiting period must be accounted for when planning the harvest to avoid residue issues in the grain.
