Systemic protection: field experience with «Tanrek»

When Colorado potato beetles or aphids appear in the fields, there is no time for hesitation. «Tanrek» from «ЗАТ Фірма Август» (Vurnary, Russia) is a tool I keep in my arsenal as a 'heavy artillery' systemic treatment. The main advantage of this insecticide is its ability to penetrate plant tissues. Unlike contact-only agents that wash off with the first rain, imidacloprid blocks the pest's nervous system receptors from within.

Application and efficiency

Working with the product is straightforward: the water-soluble concentrate mixes easily in a tank mix and does not clog sprayer nozzles. A dosage of up to 0.5 l/ha allows for efficient coverage of large areas. I use it on potatoes, tomatoes, and cucumbers when whitefly or aphid populations start to exceed the economic threshold.

• Systemic action: The pest dies even without direct contact with the spray, simply by feeding on the treated foliage.
• Wide spectrum: Effectively reduces pressure from cereal leaf beetles on wheat and sunn pests.
• Performance: A single application is sufficient to protect the crop during the critical growth period.

It is important to remember: the hazard class 3 requires strict adherence to regulations. The pre-harvest interval is 20–25 days. This is critical to ensure the active ingredient is fully metabolized. «Tanrek» requires a conscious approach: one application per season is the golden rule to prevent the development of pest resistance.
