Description
Radish "Diego" – ultra-early hybrid created by breeders from the Dutch company Hazera. The variety first appeared on the market in 2011 and quickly gained popularity due to uniform fruit ripening and the ability to grow in all seasons both in open and closed ground.
Fruits of the variety are characterized by a rich red color, a diameter of 4–5 cm, and dense white flesh. They are not prone to hollowing, maintain brightness during washing, and have a refreshing taste with a slight spiciness. The average fruit weight reaches up to 25 g, and crop yield can reach 3.5–5 kg/sq.m.
"Diego" is distinguished by high stress resistance: resistant to powdery mildew, root rots, rhizoctonia, and glassiness. The crop gains mass quickly even under short daylight hours and temperature fluctuations, making it ideal for greenhouses, film coverings, and field plantings. The recommended sowing density is 200–250 plants/sq.m, and the growing season is 22–23 days.
The variety is suitable for both fresh consumption and cooking, thanks to its uniform shape and good transportability. It is easily grown under various agronomic conditions, demonstrating high yield and low maintenance requirements.
