Description
Bromus inermis is a perennial rhizomatous turfgrass belonging to monocotyledonous plants of the Poaceae family. The growth height reaches 100 cm, while the powerful tufted root system penetrates the soil up to two meters deep, ensuring resistance to drought and prolonged flooding of the site.
The "Effect" variety represents a promising option for Bromus inermis with high yield and quality of green mass. Medium-maturing (90-97 days), winter-hardy and drought-resistant, it demonstrates good regrowth in spring and after mowing. In the first year of use, the protein content of green mass reaches 14.4%, and the digestibility of dry matter exceeds the standard by 0.194 feed units.
Bromus inermis is widely used as a forage crop: green fodder, hay, straw, and permanent pastures are produced from it. Thanks to the root system, the plant spreads quickly, occupying extensive areas, and ensures a stable release of green mass even under unfavorable climatic conditions.
