Inermis brome is distinguished by high resistance to extreme hydrothermal conditions, making it particularly valuable for arid and semi-arid regions. On areas with chestnut and floury-carbonate soils, it demonstrates good yield: on average, 1.4–1.8 tons/hectare of hay over four years after sowing. With the application of nitrogen fertilizers up to 60 kg of active substance, yield can increase by 30–40%. The culture harmonizes well with alfalfa and other timothy grasses, forming productive agroceoses.
Field trials in Buryatia showed that 'Ostanskiy' maintains stable yield even during dry growing seasons. Thanks to its perennial nature and low water requirement, it is suitable for converting abandoned arable land into feed lands, increasing the overall productivity of agricultural land.
