GROSSO

Lavender «Grosso» – a hybrid of broadleaf and narrowleaf lavender, created by French breeders in 1972 to produce high-quality essential oil. Bushes reach a height of 60 to 90 cm, have an upright form, and feature dense crowns of silver leaves covered with a moderately hairy surface.

Large inflorescences of «Grosso» are distinguished by a bright dark-purple color and a length of about 15 cm. They are arranged in cone-shaped spikes, with up to three inflorescences on one stem possible. Due to a camphor content approximately 7% higher than average for lavender, the plant's aroma is particularly rich, strong, and intense, making it in demand for industrial lavandin production.

Flowering begins after mid-June and continues until the end of summer, peaking from July to August. The plant maintains its qualities well both fresh and dried, and shows excellent frost resistance, allowing its use in various climatic conditions.
