Amber

Flax (Linum usitatissimum) variety 'Amber' is a mid-season variety with a compact bush form and a height ranging from 30 to 60 cm. The stem has a medium thickness (3-4 mm), is moderately branched, and bears lanceolate dark green leaves without pubescence. The flowers have a bluish tint, and the diameter of the open corolla is 2-2.5 cm. Pods are round in shape, medium-sized, brown in color, with cilia on the partitions, and contain 7-10 oval brown seeds. The seed mass per plant reaches up to 1.5 g, while the mass of 1000 seeds varies from 6.1 to 7.6 g depending on the region and growing conditions. The variety is characterized by a high oil content in seeds, reaching 24.5-42.0%, making the oil suitable for food use. The iodine number of the oil ranges from 180 to 182 units, indicating its quality. Over three years of variety trials, the yield is an average of 13.8 ц/га (centners per hectare). The variety has medium drought resistance and is resistant to fungal diseases, enhancing its reliability under various climatic conditions. 'Amber' is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the Penza Region, Perm Krai, as well as the Akmola, Karaganda, Kostanay, and North Kazakhstan Regions. Due to its agronomic and qualitative characteristics, this variety is promising for producing oilseed flax with high oil content and good resistance to adverse factors.
