TORZHOKSKY 4

Torzhoksky 4 is a flax variety (Linum usitatissimum L. f. elongata) intended for spinning production. It is characterized by a late maturity period and was developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Bast Crops, which is the leading scientific institution in the field of flax cultivation. The variety is recommended for growing in northwestern regions of Russia, including the Kaliningrad, Kostroma, Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov, Tver, and Yaroslavl regions.

The main advantage of Torzhoksky 4 is high resistance to a number of diseases, such as rust, fusarium wilt, polysporosis, anthracnose, and smut. In addition, the variety has good harvestability due to the non-clinging of flower heads and non-shattering of capsules, which facilitates the harvesting process and improves fiber quality. Torzhoksky 4 is distinguished by a high fiber yield, making it attractive for industrial use.
