The rapeseed flax variety VNII MK 630 is a mid-ripening, low-growing, and technological variety intended for cultivation in various climatic conditions. Plants reach a height of 50-65 cm, have white flowers and yellow seeds weighing 6.1-7.6 g per 1000 seeds. The vegetative period ranges from 86 to 105 days, allowing for effective use of the variety in the agricultural industry. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to diseases, particularly fusarium, and is not prone to lodging or shattering, which facilitates harvest.

VNII MK 630 flax seeds are characterized by high fat content — up to 54.5%, while the content of linolenic acid in the oil reaches 59.7%. The iodine number of the oil is up to 195 units, indicating the high quality of the resulting product. Potential seed yield can reach 2.7 tons per hectare, making this variety attractive for commercial cultivation.

For successful cultivation, it is recommended to use seeds not lower than 1-2 reproductive cycles and adhere to agronomic requirements. Predecessors for flax sowing can be winter cereals, perennial grasses, legume-grain mixtures, peas, and corn, while sowing after sunflower, rapeseed, and castor bean is not recommended. Main soil processing includes half-ploughing, improved fallow, layered, or anti-erosion processing. Fertilizer application depends on soil availability and ranges from N30P30K30 to N60P60K60, with additional top-dressing with urea in the ear phase. Lack of trace elements is eliminated by pre-sowing treatment or by adding to top-dressing. Sowing dates — from the third decade of March to the first decade of April, seed planting depth 4-5 cm, sowing rate 7-8 million seeds per hectare. Harvesting is conducted when 75% of capsules are ripe, at seed moisture of 10-12% and stems over 60%.
