Description
Lonicera 'Atlant' is a medium-sized and medium-wide shrub distinguished by high winter hardiness, drought resistance, and heat tolerance. The bush features straight, thick canes with reddish-brown pubescence, large green leaves, and medium horizontally positioned sepals. The pedicel is short and dark green.
The 'Atlant' variety fruits have an elongated-oval shape with a bumpy surface, are colored deep blue-gray, and weigh approximately 1.1–1.4 g. They contain about 9% sugar, 1.8% acid, and 50 mg of vitamin C per 100 g of product. The berries have a sweet-and-sour taste with a delicate aroma, making them suitable for both fresh consumption and dessert preparation.
Fruit ripening occurs at a medium-earliness; yield reaches 1.9–2 kg per bush. The bush does not shed its fruit, and the berries maintain integrity during transport. Due to low susceptibility to powdery mildew and aphids, 'Atlant' is easy to grow on garden, dacha, and suburban plots without frequent use of chemical agents. The plant roots quickly in spring or autumn, allowing its use even in regions with a short growing season.
