Description
Narymskaya is a medium-sized blueberry honeysuckle variety known for its high frost resistance and drought tolerance. Bushes are compact and dense with a rounded crown about 1.5 m high. Branches have an arched shape, reddish-brown bark color, and strong peeling. Leaves are elliptical, medium-sized, green, and hairy on both sides.
Fruits are large (1–1.5 g), spindle-shaped, with dark purple skin and a characteristic blue waxy bloom. They do not drop off, are firmly attached to branches, which facilitates harvesting. Taste is sour-sweet, sugar content about 7.4%, acids – 2.1%. Flesh is dense, aroma is weak.
The variety fruits quickly: by the second year after planting, yields of 3–5 kg per bush can already be expected. Yield is extended but early compared to many other varieties. Self-sterile, however, for maximum yield pollination with varieties such as Tomichka, Vasyuganskaya, and Bakhcharskaya is recommended. Narymskaya is suitable for cultivation in a wide range of climatic zones – from northern regions to central-Siberian territories, as well as in moderate countries of Europe and North America.
