Description
The 'Memory' Lonicera is an edible variety bred at the Far Eastern Experimental Station of N.I. Vavilov's All-Russian Research Institute of Horticulture (VNIIR) and included in the State Register in 2000. It features a medium-density, upright, semi-compact oval bush with medium growth. Shoots are straight, brown, hairy with yellowish pubescence, and thornless. Leaves are dark green, densely pubescent, leathery, and smooth.
The medium-sized berries (approx. 0.85–0.90 g) have an elongated-urn shape, slightly bumpy surface, and blue skin with a strong waxy bloom. The flesh is fibrous with medium density, offering a sour-sweet taste without aroma or bitterness. Berries contain 5.2% sugar, 2.8% acid, and 75 mg of Vitamin C per 100 g.
'Memory' is characterized by medium yield (approx. 1.5–2 kg per bush, 0.44 kg/m²) and cold hardiness. The variety requires cross-pollination but thrives in moderate and middle latitudes, including Primorsky, Khabarovsk, Amur, and Sakhalin regions. Due to high winter hardiness and universal use, it is suitable for horticulture and commercial cultivation in various climatic zones.
