Description
SOSKA Lonicera – a high bush with an inverse conical or V-shaped crown, about two meters high. Dark green, thin and concave leaves give the plant a neat compact appearance even at thick plantings. Bushes are planted at a distance of not less than 1.5 m from each other, and pruning is carried out only on dried branches.
The fruits of «SOSKA» are large (average weight about 1.1 g), elongated and up to 2.6 cm long. They have a pale blue color with a light waxy bloom, a bumpy surface and a thin but strong skin, which allows the berries to withstand transportation well and maintain their market appearance. The taste is dessert, sour-sweet, refreshing, without bitterness; aromatic and juicy. The tasting score of the variety – 4.8 out of five.
«SOSKA» is characterized by high frost resistance, drought resistance and heat tolerance, which makes it suitable for growing in the central strip of Russia. The yield is at an average level (about 2 kg per bush), and the shedding of ripe berries is minimal. The plant prefers sunny places with fertilized soil – black soil, loam and light loam. The flowering period – May, the fruit ripening period – June. Pests include aphids, spider mites and flea beetles; diseases – verticillium wilt, powdery mildew, anthracnose.
