Description
The 'Vasyuganskaya' honeysuckle variety is a highly productive shrub of medium height, reaching 1.6–1.8 m and featuring a rounded crown. The canes are thin, flexible, slightly hairy, and reddish-brown in color, while the leaves are lanceolate in shape, green with a hairy underside. The bush grows in sunny areas on loamy fertile soils and tolerates drought, heat, and winter frost well due to its excellent frost hardiness.
The fruits have a wide-lug shape, dark blue or purple color, a flat top, and a barely bumpy surface. The berries are 1.5–2.2 cm long, with a mass ranging from 0.81 to 1.1 g. The skin is thin with a matte coating, and the flesh is dense, sour-sweet, without bitterness. Ripening occurs in early summer: berries appear in early June and reach full maturity by the middle of the month.
'Vasyuganskaya' is distinguished by high yields – up to 3 kg per bush, and under optimal conditions can reach 4.8–10 tons/hectare. The bush is self-unfruitful, but to maximize fruit output, pollinators such as 'Moskovskaya 23', 'Tomichka', and 'Pavlovskaya' are recommended. Due to its resistance to diseases and pests, as well as the good drop of ripe berries, this variety is suitable for both home growing and commercial production.
