Description
The forage clover variety Regina was created by the method of pedigree-group selection from the hybrid population Wl 202 (USA) and Veselepodolianskaya. This variety is intended for haymaking use and is characterized by high regrowth intensity, which ensures rapid recovery after cutting. Regina has improved feed quality and increased seed productivity, making it a profitable choice for feed production.
Regina is characterized by high resistance to root rots and lodging, as well as high drought tolerance and winter hardiness. The productive lifespan of this variety is 4-5 years, allowing effective use of crops over several seasons. The vegetation period until the first hay cut is 50-60 days, and until seed harvest — 140-155 days.
The yield of dry matter reaches 130-140 centners per hectare, and seeds — 4.0-5.0 centners per hectare. The dry matter contains 19.0-20.0% protein and 21.0-22.0% fiber, indicating high feed nutritional quality. The recommended growing region for the Regina variety is the Forest-Steppe and Steppe, where it exhibits its best agronomic properties.
