The «Olezhka» lupin variety, developed by the National Scientific Center «Institute of Agriculture of NAAS», is designed for agricultural enterprises practicing intensive organic farming and soil conservation technologies. Its primary objective is the rapid accumulation of nitrogen and organic matter within the crop rotation.

Agronomic Advantages

• Green Manure Efficiency: With a green mass yield of 40–60 t/ha, «Olezhka» serves as a powerful source of available nitrogen, often comparable to manure application in terms of efficacy.
• Phytosanitary Role: Due to its genetic resistance to anthracnose, downy mildew, and powdery mildew, the crop does not require fungicide treatments, significantly reducing input costs.
• Root System Performance: Reaching a height of 80–120 cm, the plant develops a robust taproot that helps loosen compacted soil layers, enhancing water infiltration.

Implementation Recommendations

The recommended seeding rate is 150–200 kg/ha. This density creates a thick canopy that effectively suppresses weeds, reducing the need for herbicides prior to winter crop planting. With a protein content of 18–22% in dry matter, the biomass can be utilized not only as fertilizer but also as a high-protein fodder supplement for livestock operations.

This variety is ideal for farms aiming to minimize the use of mineral fertilizers. Integrating «Olezhka» into the crop rotation helps restore soil structure, improve humus balance, and establish a high-quality environment for subsequent crops.
