The «Snyhova Koroleva» (Snow Queen) miscanthus, developed by the Institute of Bioenergy Crops and Sugar Beet of the NAAS of Ukraine, is a high-yield hybrid designed for industrial biomass production. Unlike ornamental varieties, this giant miscanthus is specifically engineered to thrive on low-fertility soils, turning marginal land into a consistent source of revenue.

Operational Scenarios for Agribusiness

• Biofuel Production: With a dry matter yield of 18–25 tons per hectare, this variety serves as an ideal feedstock for pellet and briquette manufacturing. Its high density and low moisture content at harvest time significantly reduce drying and processing costs.
• Anti-Erosion Barriers: The robust root system provides excellent soil stability. Planting this crop along field borders or slopes effectively prevents wind and water erosion, protecting surrounding primary crops from soil loss and nutrient leaching.
• Long-term Investment: As a perennial crop with a lifespan of up to 20 years, it requires no annual reseeding, tillage, or heavy herbicide application after the initial establishment phase. This drastically lowers input costs compared to traditional annual energy crops.
