Description
Pea variety ALEKSANDRIT® is a mid-late grain legume variety intended primarily for feed use in agriculture. Plants reach a height of 65-90 cm, have white flowers and non-shattering pod type, which are weakly curved, with blunt tips and contain 4-5 seeds. Seeds are spherical, smooth, with yellow cotyledons and a closed hilum. The vegetative period is from 65 to 93 days, which is several days later than standard varieties. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 155 to 180 grams. The variety is characterized by good resistance to lodging, shattering, and drought, which corresponds to the level of standard varieties of the usual type. Seed yield averages 12.5 centners per hectare, and dry matter yield reaches 25.5 centners per hectare. In the Chelyabinsk region, the variety demonstrates high dry matter yield indicators, exceeding standard varieties by a significant margin. Protein content in the grain reaches up to 26%, making it a valuable feed resource. However, the variety is susceptible to root rots and especially to ascochitis, which requires attention during cultivation and plant protection. ALEKSANDRIT® was bred through complex hybridization involving varieties Melkosemyanny 2, Chelyabinsk 71, and Priekul'sky 334. Plant leaves have 2-3 pairs of medium leaflets with very weak serration, stipules are well developed, and mottling density is high. The maximum number of flowers per node is two. The variety is included in the State Register for the Ural region and recommended for cultivation in the agricultural sector for the purpose of obtaining high-quality feed raw materials.
