Chevron pea is a mid-season leafless variety of field peas (Pisum sativum L.), characterized by high food value and grain quality. The seeds are large, uniform, with yellow cotyledons and a light hilum, giving them an attractive appearance. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 215 to 276 grams, which is, on average, 42 grams more than standard varieties. Protein content in the grain ranges from 24.6-24.9%, making this variety particularly valuable for food and feed purposes.

The Chevron variety is characterized by moderate drought resistance and high resistance to lodging and shattering, ensuring yield stability and ease of harvesting. The seed cooking time ranges from 90 to 110 minutes, indicating good culinary properties and suitability for various cooking methods. In terms of disease resistance, the variety shows moderate resistance to ascochitiosis in leaves, however, it is susceptible to pod and seed damage, and highly susceptible to root rots, which requires attention in agronomic practices.

It is recommended for cultivation in regions with climatic conditions similar to the Perm region, where it is included in the State Register. Thanks to its characteristics, the Chevron variety is suitable for cultivation for both food and feed purposes, ensuring high quality and yield stability when complying with agronomic requirements.
