Description
Field pea cultivar FLAGMAN 9 is a mid-season determinate variety with a vegetation period ranging from 65 to 81 days. Plants reach a height of 62 to 98 cm and are characterized by high resistance to lodging and shattering, ensuring crop preservation. Seeds are spherical, smooth, with yellow cotyledons and a 1000-seed mass of 225 to 312 g. Pods are weakly curved, with a blunt tip, contain 3 to 5 seeds, and have white flowers. Bracts are well-developed, although spotting is noted. The number of internodes to the first inflorescence is 12-13, and two flowers form on each node. The variety is distinguished by high productivity and valuable market and culinary qualities. Protein content in the grain varies from 25.9% to 28.1%, making it attractive for food use. The maximum yield of the variety reached 33.2 ц/га, while the average yield in the region is about 20.3 ц/га. In the Samara region, the variety shows a yield 2.8 ц/га higher than the standard FLAGMAN variety. Drought resistance is at the level of standard varieties, allowing it to be grown in various climatic conditions. FLAGMAN 9 is resistant to root rots, however, it is susceptible to ascochytosis and rust. Thanks to its resistance to diseases and adverse conditions, the variety is recommended for cultivation in the Middle Volga region, in particular in the Samara region. The pedigree of the variety includes hybrids that ensure its high adaptability and yield stability. This pea variety is a valuable choice for farmers seeking to obtain a high-quality and high-yield harvest.
