The Kulon pea variety is a mid-season, leafless variety bred by individual selection from the hybrid combination Kazanets x Flagman 7. The vegetative period ranges from 67 to 78 days, and plant height varies between 50-65 cm. Kulon is distinguished by its high resistance to lodging and shattering, ensuring harvest stability under various weather conditions. The mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 180-239 grams, indicating the variety's large seed size.

This variety is intended for grain use and is characterized by high potential yield, which can exceed 50 centners per hectare. Average yield in growing regions is about 21.1 c/ha, surpassing standard varieties. Kulon is well-adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the Volgo-Vyatsky, Central Black Earth, Middle Volga, and Ural regions.

The variety has moderate resistance to ascochitis, but is susceptible to root rots and brown rust. Pests such as codling moth and bruus affect plants at levels comparable to standard varieties. In addition to high productivity, Kulon is distinguished by its good digestibility and taste qualities, making it attractive for use in the food industry and agriculture.
