Description
Field pea variety Rocket is a medium-late maturing leafless variety belonging to the vining type with irregular-shaped yellow seeds. This variety is primarily intended for grain-forage use and is distinguished by high yield, which can reach up to 66.6 quintals per hectare under optimal conditions. Rocket is characterized by resistance to lodging and pod splitting, which significantly facilitates harvest collection and reduces losses. The vegetation period ranges from 68 to 90 days depending on weather conditions, allowing for flexible planning of sowing and harvesting dates.
For successful cultivation of the Rocket variety, it is recommended to adhere to sowing rates of 70 to 100 seeds per square meter, with a sowing depth of 3-5 cm depending on soil type. The optimal soil temperature for sowing should not be lower than +5°C. The plant responds positively to fertilizer application, especially those containing phosphorus and potassium in doses of 40-45 and 110-120 kg per hectare, respectively. Additional nitrogen application is necessary only on poor soils, which allows for efficient resource utilization and increased yield.
The variety possesses moderate resistance to powdery mildew and downy mildew, but is susceptible to ascochyta blight and rust. Due to its agronomic characteristics and high productivity, Rocket is widely used in large-scale industrial pea cultivation, especially in regions with suitable climatic conditions. This variety is a reliable choice for farmers seeking to obtain quality grain with high protein content (20.9-22.1%) and a stable yield.
