Description
SINEVIR is a winter-hardy pea (Pisum sativum L.) variety intended primarily for fodder use. It is characterized by late maturity with a vegetative period of up to 245 days and medium flowering duration. Plants reach a height of up to 150 cm, possess high winter hardiness and drought resistance, making the variety reliable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including the Krasnodar Krai and many other regions of Russia.
The variety is distinguished by high yield: in the conditions of Krasnodar Krai, grain yield reaches 38.6 c/ha, and dry matter yield — 110 c/ha, which is 35 c/ha higher than the standard Legion. The mass of 1000 seeds is 181 g, and protein content in the grain reaches 26.7 %, which is 4.9 % higher compared to the benchmark variety. Plants have a long stem with a large number of nodes to the first fertile node, large leaflets with weakly pronounced serration and well-developed stipules. Pods are weakly curved with a blunt tip, seeds are round with yellow cotyledons and a black hilum.
The SINEVIR variety has high resistance to lodging and shattering, and also demonstrates weak infection with ascochitis and root rots in field conditions. Thanks to these qualities and high adaptability to various climatic zones, the variety is widely used in agricultural practice to obtain quality fodder raw materials and green mass.
