Description
Field pea variety Violenta is a mid-late non-lamellate variety with a vegetation period of 69 to 88 days. Plants reach a height of 64 to 119 cm and are characterized by the formation of a tangled stem with red-violet flowers. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to shattering and cracking, which reduces grain losses during harvest. The mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 144 to 250 g, indicating the large-seeded nature of the variety. Violenta is recommended for cultivation in the Central Black Earth, Ural, and West Siberian regions, including the Orenburg and Tyumen regions.
One of the key features of the variety is a record-high protein content in the grain, reaching 27-28.5%, making it valuable for both grain and fodder crops. Dry matter yield in the West Siberian region reaches 42.7 centners/ha, and the potential grain yield is 55-60 centners/ha. Additionally, the variety demonstrates high green mass yield - 380-420 centners/ha. The recommended sowing rate is 1.2–1.3 million seeds per hectare.
Violenta possesses drought tolerance and lodging resistance above average, which ensures harvest stability under stressful climatic conditions. However, the variety is susceptible to brown rust, ascochytosis, and root rots, which requires attention in agronomic care. Thanks to its characteristics and high technological indicators, the Violenta variety is a reliable choice for farmers focused on obtaining high-yield protein peas.
