Description
Pea variety Zinkivskyi is a leafless grain type, developed by crossing varieties Orlovchanin and Consord, followed by selection of plants resistant to seed shattering. Plants have a shortened simple stem, 50-60 cm tall, with straight, blunt-tipped pods of the dehiscing type, containing 6-8 cylindrical smooth seeds with yellow cotyledons. The 1000-seed weight is 250 g, and protein content reaches 26.1%, ensuring high nutritional value of the grain.
Variety Zinkivskyi is characterized by high resistance to numerous diseases, including wilt, seed shattering, fusarium, septoria, ascochitosis, anthracnose, rust, powdery mildew, downy mildew, and root rot caused by Rhizoctonia. Due to these qualities and adaptation to forest-steppe zone conditions, the variety demonstrates high yield potential — from 6.0 to 6.5 tons per hectare at a seeding rate of 300 kg/ha. It is also suitable for single-phase harvesting and direct combine harvesting.
Zinkivskyi belongs to medium-maturing varieties, recommended for cultivation in the Polissia and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. With optimal agronomic practices and clean seedbeds free of weeds, yields can reach 60-65 centners per hectare. High photosynthetic activity and good plant aeration contribute to stable and high-quality yields, making this variety a promising choice for agricultural producers.
