For a practical grower, this tree is a reliable, “workhorse” variety that does not require delicate maintenance but yields predictable, high-quality results.

Agrotechnics and Maintenance

The tree is categorized as medium-sized, reaching a height of about 5 meters. This crown configuration significantly simplifies life for the operator during pruning and spraying—the canopy is easily accessible from a standard ladder. Experience shows the variety responds well to open-center (vase) pruning, which maintains optimal fruit exposure to sunlight and reduces the risk of fungal diseases within dense areas.

Yield and Fruit Quality

The 'Pontiyiskiy' variety demonstrates high commercial viability. Fruit weight ranges from 100 to 200 grams, a "gold standard" for both retail markets and processing. The fruit shape is round to slightly compressed, which is convenient for grading and packing. The flesh is juicy with a distinct sweet-and-sour flavor and a classic peach aroma that persists even after transport.
