Kudesnik

Kudesnik is a mid-season physicalis (growth period 130‑140 days), reaching a height of up to 1.8 m in a film greenhouse. The plant is characterized by weak hairiness and a compact bush, making it convenient for cultivation in limited spaces. Self-pollinating with yellow flowers adorned with dark spots at the base, giving it a characteristic appearance.

The variety stands out for its large-fruitedness: fruits weighing 5‑6 g (up to 9 g) have brownish-orange skin and richly orange pulp. They are juicy, aromatic, acid-sweet with a slight bitterness reminiscent of grapefruit; the taste is close to strawberry and pineapple. Thanks to the dense skin, the fruits maintain freshness and are easily stored after thorough drying of the sleeves.

Kudesnik differs in high yield – up to 1 kg/m² with proper care. The plant is resistant to unfavorable conditions but prefers light soils with abundant nutrition and moderate watering: water is needed only until mid-July; starting in August, watering must be limited to control growth.

The fruits are suitable both fresh and for making jam, compotes and other products of top quality processing. They are rich in vitamins, trace elements and pectin, making them a valuable ingredient in the diet.
