Description
Amber is a mid-season pumpkin variety intended primarily for seed production. The period from germination to harvest is 110-120 days. The fruits have an oval shape with striped skin of orange-green or gray-green color. The pumpkin flesh is sweet and juicy, making it an excellent dietary product for culinary use.
A characteristic of the variety is the presence of bare seeds covered only by a thin translucent film that is hardly felt in the mouth. Such seeds are rich in fiber, proteins, and useful mineral substances, which increases their nutritional value and health benefits. Thanks to these qualities, the seeds of the Amber pumpkin are widely used both in the food industry and at home.
The variety can be grown both through seedlings and direct sowing in the soil on sunny and fertile plots. Seeds are sown in May-June at a depth of 3-6 cm with a distance between plants of about 50-100 cm. When grown through seedlings, 20-day plants are transplanted after the threat of frost. Regular watering, weeding, soil loosening, and fertilizing with mineral fertilizers are required for successful growth. It is recommended to pinch the main stem above the fourth leaf, leaving 1-2 fruits on side shoots for optimal fruit formation. Harvest is carried out in September-October.
