Zhdana

Zhdana pumpkin is an early or late-maturing, large-fruited variety with a maturation period of 120 to 130 days. The fruits have a round-oval shape, light gray color without patterns, which acquire a reddish tint upon prolonged storage. The weight of one pumpkin typically ranges from 6 to 8 kilograms, with individual specimens reaching up to 11–15 kilograms. The fruit skin is dense, ensuring good storage and long-distance transportation without loss of quality. The flesh of Zhdana pumpkin has a rich reddish-orange color, is thick, tender, juicy, and very sweet. Dry matter content is 13–14%, total sugar content reaches 8–9%, and carotene content is 10–15%. Vitamin C content in the flesh is approximately 28 mg per 100 grams. The seeds are large, light brown, suitable for consumption and oil extraction. High sugar content and optimal acid balance make this variety versatile for fresh consumption as well as processing into juices, purees, chips, and other home preserves. The Zhdana variety is highly productive — yields of 30 to 40 tons per hectare are achievable. It is resistant to major diseases, including powdery mildew, which simplifies care and increases cultivation reliability. Due to its low maintenance requirements and adaptability to various climatic conditions, this variety is ideal for both experienced gardeners and beginners. Long storage capacity — over 150 days — allows the use of pumpkins throughout the season while preserving their flavor and nutritional qualities.
