Description
KROCUS — a mid-season variety of large-fruited pumpkin with a maturation period of 95-108 days from germination to harvest. The plant is characterized by a short-creeping type with a main vine of medium length. The fruits are round, weakly segmented, grey in color, and differ in large sizes: the average weight is 7-8 kg, while individual specimens can reach a weight of up to 21 kg. The pumpkin flesh is bright yellow, thick, dense, and juicy, having an excellent taste, which makes this variety attractive for various culinary purposes.
Growing the KROCUS variety is possible both by seedling method and by direct sowing into the ground. Sowing for seedlings is recommended in April, with subsequent transplanting of seedlings into the ground in May-June. With direct sowing, seeds are planted at the end of May — beginning of June at a depth of 4-6 cm, depending on the soil type. The optimal planting scheme is 60x60 cm, which ensures sufficient space for plant development and formation of large fruits.
The average yield of the KROCUS variety reaches 9-11 kg per square meter, indicating the high productivity of the culture. Thanks to its large fruits, dense and juicy flesh with a bright color and superior taste, this pumpkin variety is excellent for use in cooking, as well as for storage and processing.
