The Rug Vif De Tamp pumpkin is a medium-early French variety with a vegetative period of 110-115 days, suitable for cultivation on dry land or under irrigation in various regions. The plant is heat-loving, drought-resistant, and strongly branching, preferring highly fertile organic soils. For optimal growth, seeds should be sown directly into open ground, and tips of branches should be pinched to improve fruit formation. The variety is characterized by high yield — up to 1500 kg per 100 m² — as well as adaptability to climatic and agronomic conditions. The fruits of Rug Vif De Tamp are large, round-oval in shape with distinct segmentation and expansion in the flower end, where the seeds are located. Fruit mass varies from 10 to 20 kg depending on planting density. The skin is thin, gray-orange on the outside, and the flesh is bright orange, juicy, medium-firm, with high sugar and dry matter content (more than 6%, some sources indicate up to 10%). The pumpkin has excellent taste and aroma qualities, making it popular for fresh consumption as well as processing. The variety is versatile in use: fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, cooking, canning, as well as for juice production, baby food, and porridge. Due to its good transportability and long storage capacity (up to three months), Rug Vif De Tamp is widely used in the food industry, particularly in canning factories producing pumpkin puree. High levels of carotene and sugars make this variety especially valuable from a nutritional standpoint.
