Blackstone

Blackstone is an early-maturing winter rape hybrid with a vegetation period of 295–300 days, intended for cultivation in Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia zones. The hybrid is characterized by high yield potential up to 72 centners per hectare and average actual yield of about 47 centners per hectare. Blackstone rape is adapted for Clearfield and Euro-Lightning technologies, ensuring effective use of modern protective agents and fertilizers.

One of the key features of Blackstone is its high resistance to adverse environmental factors and diseases. Plants exhibit high frost and drought resistance, rated at 9 points, as well as resistance to lodging, powdery mildew, downy mildew, alternaria, bacterial disease, black leg, sclerotinia, and damage by rape flea beetle. This makes the hybrid a reliable choice for regions with variable climatic conditions.

Blackstone rape has a high oil content — 46.4%, which enhances its economic value. The 1000-seed mass is 4.5–4.7 g, and plant height reaches 172 cm. The recommended seeding rate varies from 350,000 to 800,000 seeds per hectare depending on growing conditions. Low glucosinolate content (0.3%) contributes to improved product quality.
