Olivin

The winter rape variety Olin was created by crossing a French line and the Dragon variety bred by VNIIMK. It is intended for grain and green fodder cultivation, features a late maturity date, and high winter hardiness. Plants reach a height of about 180 cm, and the vegetative period lasts 254 days. The variety's yield reaches 4 tons per hectare, with oil collection amounting to 1.72 tons per hectare.

The main feature of the Olin variety is the unique fatty-acid composition of the oil. The oleic acid content in the oil reaches nearly 80% (79.7%), while linolenic acid is only 5.2%. Thanks to this, the oil exhibits high thermal stability, which simplifies its storage and extends its shelf life. Olin variety oil is radiation-safe and widely used in cooking.

The variety belongs to type 00, it is spineless and low-glucosinolate, which makes it particularly valuable for farmers. Recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the North Caucasus, Central, and Northwestern Federal Districts, as well as the Krasnodar Krai. High yield, resistance to winter conditions, and oil quality characteristics make the Olin variety a profitable choice for agricultural production.
