Genetic Potential and Adaptability of the "Berehynia" Variety

The "Berehynia" strawberry, developed by the NUBiP of Ukraine, is a specialized late-ripening variety (50-60 days) focused on high marketability and stability in open-field conditions. The key value of this variety lies in combining high productivity (1.2-1.5 kg per plant) with a robust immune barrier.

Technical Analysis of Resilience

A fundamental feature of "Berehynia" is its high resistance to major berry pathogens. The variety's genetic profile minimizes the risk of Verticillium wilt and Phytophthora root rot. This allows farmers to reduce the number of fungicide applications, directly impacting the environmental sustainability and production costs. Its high frost resistance (down to -25°C) makes the variety suitable for cultivation in regions with harsh climates without the need for complex protective coverings.

Fruit Morphology and Application

The berries have a distinct conical shape and an attractive orange hue. With a weight of 30-40 grams, the fruits maintain the firmness required for commercial logistics. Being a non-remontant variety ensures a concentrated harvest period. The technical characteristics of the fruit allow it to be used both for the fresh market, due to its excellent taste, and for industrial processing, where pulp firmness is crucial for freezing or preserving.
