ELIANNI

The Elianni strawberry variety is a mid-early, short-day variety bred in the Netherlands, suitable both for home gardening and commercial cultivation. The bushes are powerful with high growth energy, especially with sufficient humidity and watering. The inflorescences are tall, positioned at or above the leaf level, and do not droop, which facilitates harvesting. The berries have a correct conical and elongated shape, a bright red glossy color, and differ in large size — the weight of one berry ranges from 20 to 90 grams. The flesh is light red, tender, juicy, and fleshy; despite the thick skin, it provides a pleasant dessert taste with a harmonious combination of sweetness, a slight tartness, and a distinct aroma, in which both floral and fruity notes can be detected. The Elianni variety begins fruiting in May and continues until early June, confirming its mid-early character and lack of remontancy. Yield from one bush reaches from 0.5 to 2.5 kg of berries; farmers note a high percentage of first-class product and a stable berry size throughout the harvesting period. The variety is characterized by good resistance to rainy weather, gray mold, powdery mildew, and is practically not susceptible to viral diseases and strawberry mite infestation. Thanks to high winter hardiness and the requirement for a large number of cold hours, Elianni is well adapted to a continental climate. Plants can bear fruit in one place for up to 10 years without a decline in yield. The Elianni strawberry is characterized by good transportability and the ability to long-term storage in a cooled state, which makes it attractive for commercial cultivation and sales. The plant is self-fertile and prefers well-lit areas, with a recommended distance between plants of 40 cm in a row and 60 cm between rows. The variety was obtained by crossing Vissers and Konings, which ensured it high agronomic and taste qualities. Elianni is a universal variety with a pronounced strawberry aroma and excellent taste, valued by both enthusiasts and professional gardeners.
