Description
Portola strawberry plants are adaptable to various growing conditions and can thrive in almost any soil, though for maximum yield, they are best planted on sunny sites with fertile, well-drained soil and regular watering. Yield per plant ranges from 1.5 to 1.8 kg. The variety shows good resistance to frost and most diseases, though it is more susceptible to spotting diseases; thus, maintaining optimal spacing between plants is crucial to reduce infection risk.
To increase fruit production during the season, early spring flower shoots should be removed. Portola strawberry is suitable for both commercial cultivation and home gardens. Its high market quality, attractive appearance, and excellent flavor make it popular among gardeners and commercial producers.
