Description
The Tsarskoselskaya strawberry variety is a high-yield and winter-hardy variety developed by the Leningrad Fruit and Vegetable Experimental Station. Bushes are semi-spreading, well-leafed, which promotes good development and fruiting. Berries are dark red with a distinct gloss, have a blunt-conical or oval shape, and average weight ranges from 13.5 to 70 grams depending on growing conditions. The variety is characterized by medium-late ripening periods and high yields, reaching 7.36 tons per hectare.
Tsarskoselskaya strawberries have a sweet-and-sour taste, making them versatile for fresh consumption as well as processing, such as making jams and preserves. Thanks to high resistance to diseases such as verticillium, wilting, and gray mold, as well as to pests, the variety requires minimal protection, although control of sawfly larvae is recommended. A light-loving plant is well adapted to the conditions of the Central Federal District of Russia.
This strawberry variety is widely used both in private gardens and on an industrial scale for selling fresh produce or processing. Its high winter hardiness and disease resistance make Tsarskoselskaya a reliable choice for gardeners seeking a stable and quality berry harvest with excellent taste characteristics.
