The 'Velvet' raspberry variety is a late-season variety with universal utility, characterized by high sugar content and a bright aroma. Bushes of medium vigor and spreadingness reach a height of about 180 cm and possess medium cane-forming ability. Canes are thorny and have an anthocyanin coloration at the beginning of growth. Fruits of this variety have a broadly conical shape, red or dark-red coloration, and dense pubescence. The average fruit weight ranges from 2.3 to 3 grams; the flesh is acid-sweet, juicy, and aromatic. The 'Velvet' variety is distinguished by good winter hardiness, which allows cultivation in regions with harsh winters, as well as disease and pest resistance at the level of standard varieties. However, drought resistance is weak. The ripening period is late, and in some regions, harvesting continues from August until the first frosts. The yield reaches about 60 centners per hectare, making it suitable for commercial cultivation. Due to its characteristics, 'Velvet' raspberry is suitable for cultivation both in private holdings and on industrial plantations. Fruits are versatile in use — they are suitable for fresh consumption, processing, and freezing.
