GAGARIN

The GAGARIN rose variety is a representative of the Grandiflora group, bred by crossing the Peace and Baby Chateau varieties. The flowers of this variety are large, reaching up to 11 centimeters in diameter, have a cup shape and dense fullness, counting up to 63 petals. The flower coloring is tender pink with intensely pink petal edges, which gives them special expressiveness and attractiveness. The flowers have a strong aroma, which makes the variety especially valuable for decorative greening and cutting.

GAGARIN rose bushes are compact but vigorously growing, with large, dark green, and glossy foliage. The plant is characterized by abundant and prolonged flowering, which allows you to enjoy its beauty for a long time. The variety has medium winter hardiness and disease resistance, which facilitates care and increases its reliability in growing.

The history of the variety is linked to the name of the first cosmonaut Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin. The rose was named on September 3, 1961, when Gagarin and G.S. Titov visited the garden of breeder Vera Nikolaevna Klymenko. She presented Gagarin with a new, as yet unnamed variety, receiving his agreement to name the rose in honor of the cosmonaut. In 2022, the variety was transferred to the museum for placement in the "Gagarin Garden", which underscores its cultural and historical significance.
