It is characterized by stable yields of approximately 1.4–1.5 t/ha under optimal growing conditions and a vegetative period ranging from 67 to 93 days.
The oil content of the variety reaches 45–48%, making it attractive both for oil production and forage purposes. The weight of 1000 seeds is 36–41 g, and the average yield is approximately 14 c/ha. Due to high resistance to drought and heat, «Astrakhan 646» is suitable for mechanized harvesting, which increases its economic efficiency.
