VOLGOGRADSKY 15

The "Volgogradsky15" variety is a highly effective safflower intended for the production of oilseeds, as well as for fodder and industrial purposes. The plant reaches a height of 100–105 cm, has a vegetative period of about 105 days, and is characterized by high drought tolerance. Due to its resistance to diseases and pests, seed yield is consistently around 8.3 c/ha.

The seeds of this variety differ in their large size: the weight of 1000 grains ranges from 39.4 to 51.5 g. The internal composition of the seeds ensures a high level of useful substances – oil content reaches 24–28 % in absolutely dry seeds, while protein content is about 17.3 %. The moisture content of the seeds is in the range of 46–52 %, which indicates good product quality.

The variety «Volgogradsky15» is suitable for mechanized harvesting and subsequent processing. Oil from its seeds is widely used in cooking, in the production of margarine, dressings, and frying, as well as in industry for the manufacture of varnishes and paints. The meal left over after oil extraction is used as a protein additive in feeding animals and birds. Thanks to these properties, «Volgogradsky15» represents a universal resource for agriculture and the food industry.
