Description
GUSTOLISTNY is a sorghum-sudangrass hybrid (Sorghum x drummondii), primarily intended for the production of silage, green mass, hay, and haylage. This hybrid is characterized by a long stem and high leafiness, which ensures a significant yield of fodder mass. The leaves are of medium length and width, and the panicle has a symmetrical shape and an inclined position. The seeds are elliptical, light brown in color, and the glume scales turn brown-black upon maturity.
The hybrid is distinguished by its resistance to lodging and strong bushiness, which contributes to stable growth and high productivity. The time of heading for the variety is average, and the stem core has intermediate juiciness, which is important for quality silage. Anthocyanin coloration of seedlings may be absent or very weak, which is a distinguishing feature of this variety.
GUSTOLISTNY is included in the State Register for several regions, including the North Caucasus, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, Ural, and West Siberia. The yield of dry matter varies depending on the region and averages from 65 to 85 c/ha, with maximum figures reaching up to 193.4 c/ha under favorable conditions. Thanks to its characteristics and high productivity, this hybrid is widely used in agriculture for feeding animals and producing feed.
