MSS 1

MSS 1 is a high-yielding sorghum hybrid intended for grain and fodder mass production. Sorghum is a universal fodder crop characterized by high drought tolerance, the ability to yield high harvests even under moisture deficit, and a wide range of applications: grain, silage, green mass, hay, grass meal, and cover crops. Grain yield of high-yielding sorghum varieties and hybrids on favorable agro-ecological conditions reaches 120-140 c/ha, while green mass yield reaches 1200-1400 c/ha. Due to its biological features, sorghum withstands drought and high temperatures better than other crops, such as corn, while requiring less moisture for crop formation.

Hybrid MSS 1 belongs to the grain-fodder group and is a first-generation hybrid, ensuring high productivity and adaptability. Sorghum is heat-loving; the optimal temperature for seed germination is 20-25°C, with a minimum temperature of 10-12°C. Early sowing under unstable temperatures may lead to reduced germination. Frost below 2-3°C is fatal for seedlings and immature plants. An important feature is sorghum's ability to recover quickly after mowing and continue vegetation until autumn frosts, allowing for several cuts of green mass with irrigation.

Additionally, MSS 1 has good silaging quality, as leaves and stems remain green and juicy until grain maturity. This makes the crop particularly valuable for fodder production. Sorghum grows well on various soils, including chernozems and slightly saline soils, and responds positively to irrigation, significantly increasing yield. Due to its unique biological and economic properties, hybrid MSS 1 is a reliable choice for farmers seeking high-quality fodder and grain under variable climate and limited water supply.
