Silo 700D

Sorghum-sudan hybrid Silo 700D is a high-yielding mid-early variety with a vegetation period of about 120 days. Plants reach a height of 180 to 250 cm and form 2-3 stems per plant, ensuring good bushiness and dense structure. The hybrid is adapted for monoculture and exhibits high resistance to lodging, drought, and stress conditions, confirmed by a high resistance score — 9 out of 10. Due to the absence of tannins, the white grain is suitable for both feed and food purposes. Silo 700D is primarily intended for silage production but can also be used for grain production. The hybrid is characterized by high digestible protein content and a significant proportion of grain in silage mass, improving feed quality and promoting efficient animal fattening. Plants have strong stems and a well-developed dark green leafy canopy, ensuring good photosynthetic nutrition and stable yields of up to 75 tons of silage and 7 tons of grain per hectare. The hybrid is tolerant to a range of pathogens, including rust, helminthosporium, and mold. It can successfully grow on various soil types, including low-productivity, acidic, and saline soils, expanding its application potential. The optimal planting density is about 200,000 plants per hectare with row spacing of 21, 45, or 70 cm. High initial growth energy (8 out of 10) allows the hybrid to establish roots and develop rapidly, ensuring stable and high-quality yields under various climatic conditions.
