Description
Sweet sorghum STAVROPOL 63 is a high-yielding variety specifically developed to achieve maximum sugar content in the stalks. This variety is distinguished by its high disease resistance and excellent adaptation to the climatic conditions of the North Caucasus region, ensuring a stable yield and quality raw material for the food industry and sugar production.
The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and increased bushiness, which contributes to an increase in stalk mass and, accordingly, the volume of sugar obtained. Raw stalks contain up to 15% sugar, while the sugar concentration in the stalk juice reaches 24%. The highest sugar content is observed at the full grain ripeness stage, which is important to consider when harvesting for maximum production efficiency.
Sweet sorghum STAVROPOL 63 is widely used not only for producing sweet syrup and molasses but also for silage. It silages well both in pure form and in mixtures with corn, wheat, and barley straw, making it a versatile feed and industrial crop. The grain of this variety is hulled or semi-hulled and difficult to hull, which should be taken into account during technological processing.
