BELGORODSKAYA 8

The «Belgorodskaya 8» soybean variety is a high-protein and high-yielding variety recommended for cultivation in the Central-Black-Earth region and some other regions. This variety is characterized by early to mid-maturity with a vegetative period of 100 to 114 days. Plants are of the determinant type of development, reaching a height of 63-80 cm, with an upright or semi-upright growth form. A distinguishing feature is the reddish-brown pubescence of the main stem and purple flower color. Seeds are of medium size, elongated-flattened, yellow in color with a dark brown hilum; the mass of 1000 seeds is 120-138 g.

The «Belgorodskaya 8» variety is characterized by high yield: average figures in the Central-Black-Earth region reach 20.8-27.5 c/ha, while in the Lipetsk region – up to 28.3 c/ha, with a potential maximum yield of up to 38 c/ha. Protein content in seeds varies from 34.5% to 35%, and fat content from 23.3% to 24.2%, making this variety particularly valuable for the production of protein products. In addition, the variety is resistant to pod shattering, which contributes to maintaining crop quality.

One of the important advantages of the variety is its good competitiveness with weeds, especially during the second wave of their appearance, as well as high compensatory ability. The variety is suitable for mixed sowings with corn, which expands its use possibilities in crop rotations. The recommended sowing rate is 600-700 thousand seeds per hectare, which ensures optimal plant development and high productivity.
